The Conservation Portrait Challenge is a global call for artists, photographers, and advocates to capture the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. This is more than a photo contest—it’s a movement to show the courage, beauty, and resilience in the fight for a healthier planet. Submit your portrait and tell a story of empowerment, conservation, and hope.
Why Participate?

* Be Our Official Ambassador: The grand prize winner will become our official Conservation Ambassador for one year, receiving a platform to share their passion and inspiring others.
*Win up to $5000 US The Grand prize is 25% of proceeds up to a maximum of $5000. Other prizes will be announced later and depend on sponsors. The Grand prize will be announced at the end of 2026.

Monthly prizes and themes: Each month that we have at least 150 entries, we will give away $1000 to the top voted entry. If the entries are below 150, we will give away a prize equal to 25% of the entry value. The first month will be October and November combined

The theme for the first months is Fall Harvest

* Support a Cause: Every entry fee and vote helps fund our mission to protect clean water and conserve natural habitats.
* Get Featured: Top submissions will be showcased in our official digital calendar and on our social media, reaching our global community.
* Receive an Exclusive Gift: Every person who submits a photo will receive a free, downloadable e-book featuring all the finalists.

The Challenge: Capture the Connection
We are looking for powerful portraits that resonate with one or more of these themes:
* Conservation: Show us a your portrait actively protecting nature, living a sustainable lifestyle, or advocating for the environment.
* Clean Water: Capture the beauty and importance of water in a portrait by a river, lake, or a symbolic representation of this vital resource.
* Courage & Empowerment: Submit a portrait that reflects resilience, strength, and the human spirit in the face of environmental challenges.
This is a portrait challenge, not a nature photography contest. The focus should be on the person or people in the image and their relationship to the natural world.
How to Enter
* Pay Your Entry Fee: Click the button below to purchase your contest entry. You will be redirected to our secure checkout. The entry fee is [$20] per submission. We are a 501(c)(3) organization so in the USA, your entry fee is a tax deductible contribution
* Submit Your Photo: After your payment is confirmed, you will be redirected to a secure submission form. Upload your high-resolution image(s) and provide a short description of how your photo relates to our mission.
* Share Your Story: Once your submission is complete, share it on social media with the hashtag #PrairieConservationPhotoChallenge to encourage votes from your friends and family.

* Grand Prize Winner: Up to $5000 US Plus A one-year term as our Official Conservation Ambassador. This includes a dedicated profile on our website, social media takeovers, and speaking opportunities.
* Finalists: The top 12 finalists will be featured in our official digital calendar for 2026.
* All Participants: Receive a free, high-resolution digital “Art of Conservation” e-book featuring all finalist photos.

* Who can enter? Anyone 18 years of age or older from anywhere in the world.
* Is there a limit on photos? Yes, you may submit up to three photos per person.
* Do I have to be a professional photographer? No! This contest is open to everyone, regardless of skill level.
* How will my photos be used? By submitting, you grant us a license to use your photo for fundraising and promotional purposes, with credit given to you.
* What if my photo contains artistic nudity? We welcome a wide range of artistic expression. Images that are tastefully done will be considered for a separate, paywalled gallery on our exclusive membership platform.
