At Prairie Guardians, our mission is to restore and protect the natural environment by partnering with local communities, farmers, and conservationists to create sustainable prairie strips that serve as wildlife corridors, protect waterways, and provide recreational spaces. By building a network of interconnected habitats, including bike trails and electric vehicle charging stations, we aim to foster harmony between agriculture, wildlife, and human activity. We are working to combine conservation with renewable energy with our prairie strips. We are looking for farmers in Illinois to participate in our pilot solar program. We will put solar panels in your prairie grass waterways, and pay a yearly lease. The solar panels will be pedestal mounted high enough for the prairie grass to grow underneath and spaced far enough apart to get equipment around. The Vision
At Prairie Guardians, we are redefining the intersection of renewable energy and ecosystem restoration. Our ProBox Initiative utilizes modular, aquatic-based technology to solve two of the planet’s most pressing challenges simultaneously: clean energy production and waterway remediation.
The Multi-Benefit Approach
Our proprietary modular platforms are designed to serve as “Living Infrastructure.” Unlike traditional restoration methods, our system provides a triple-threat benefit to riverine and coastal environments:
Active Bio-Filtration: Utilizing specialized, high-surface-area substrates to filter pollutants, excess nutrients, and heavy metals from the water column.
Renewable Energy Generation: Integrated floating photovoltaic (FPV) arrays that provide off-grid power for environmental monitoring or local grid support.
Habitat Creation: A bio-mimetic design that provides essential nursery grounds for aquatic life and supports the growth of native mangroves and wetland species.

The ProBox system is engineered for rapid deployment and scalability. Whether protecting a sensitive shoreline or restoring an industrial waterway, the modular nature allows for custom configurations tailored to the specific chemical and biological needs of the site.
