The Conservation Portrait Challenge: Official Rules
Welcome to The Conservation Portrait Challenge! This is your opportunity to connect your creativity with our mission to promote nature, conservation, and clean water. Please read the following rules carefully before submitting your entry.
1. Eligibility
* Age: All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of submission. By entering this contest, you certify that you meet this age requirement.
* Original Work: All submitted images must be your own original work. Do not submit photos taken by another person unless you have explicit permission and a legal model release from both the photographer and the subject.
2. Submission Guidelines
* Theme: All photos must be relevant to the contest’s themes of conservation, clean water, courage, and empowerment. This could include portraits of people in nature, images that convey strength or vulnerability, or photos that symbolically represent our mission.
* Image Format: Photos must be submitted as JPEG or PNG files. We recommend a resolution of at least 300 dpi and a file size under 20MB.
* Number of Entries: Each person may submit a maximum of three (3) photos. A separate entry fee is required for each submission.
* Deadlines: All entries must be submitted by December 1, 2036 at 12pm US Central time.
3. Content Policy
* We reserve the right to disqualify any image that is deemed harmful, offensive, or inappropriate. This includes content that is libelous, defamatory, pornographic, or harassing.
* Artistic Expression: We welcome creative and artistic submissions, including tasteful artistic portraits of the human form in nature. These images will be judged on their artistic merit and thematic relevance.
* Exclusive Content: Submissions that contain artistic nudity will be considered for a separate, exclusive gallery on our subscription-based platform, accessible to paying members. By submitting such a photo, you agree to its potential inclusion in this paywalled content. You must indicate your consent for this on the submission form.
4. Image Usage Rights
* By submitting a photo, you grant Prairie Guardians a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute the image for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use in online galleries, social media, advertisements, newsletters, and in our official calendar or e-book.
* We will provide credit to you as the photographer/artist whenever your image is used.
5. Judging and Prizes
* Judging: Entries will be judged on creativity, artistic quality, thematic relevance, and originality. A panel of judges will select the top finalists and winners. Audience voting will also be a factor in the final selection.
* Prizes: The winner will be named our official Conservation Ambassador for one year, as described on the contest page. Other top finalists may be featured in our digital calendar or other promotional materials.
6. Disclaimer
* By entering this contest, you agree to these rules and acknowledge that all decisions of the judges are final. We are not responsible for any technical issues that may prevent your submission from being received.
